G'day,
I discovered this stamp exchange through Postcrossing - one of the members I sent a postcard to there had a link in their profile - and I decided to give this a try.
I've been collecting stamps ever since I was little, mum got both us kids started, and while I've kept it up I'm not as picky about it as some, I have a lot of hobbies and stamps are just one of them. I like to see the different little squares of artwork and the differences between countries but I'm not picky about content. Send me whatever you have, it doesn't matter to me if I have them already, I'll just use them to exchange with someone else.
Like everyone I'd love to get stamps from those tiny countries most people don't even know exist but I'm aware that'd be a rare happening. I would love to receive Postcrossing stamps, though I realise they're probably relatively rare.
Also happy to receive Australian stamps, though preferably before 2008 or so. After that I pretty much have them all. Before that date is patchy.
One thing I'd like to clarify, if someone can answer the question, is do we send stamps with the paper removed or does it not matter? I personally don't mind either way.
Word of warning, most of what I have available to send in on paper, as in, it came off an envelope or postcard that's been through the postal system. (My nearest Philatelic store that's not Australia Post is about 200km away and I haven't been there for over ten years so I don't even know if they're still open!) I don't mind if I get one star less for there being a bit (or lot) of paper-backed stamps, in fact I kind of expect it. I'd like to soak the paper off them but we really don't have much water available to waste like that so, advanced apologies but there's going to be at least a few paper backed stamps from me.
Constructive critisism is welcome of the, "this is okay but here's how you could improve" variety, especially since I'm new at this!
